2018 – Are you making a New Years Resolution?

Combat Academy Chelmsford wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, have fun and stay safe over this festive period.

#NewYearsResolution It’s that time of year again, it seems to be coming around far quicker each year, some of us will be thinking about making our 2018 New Year resolutions in the next few weeks.

A New Year’s Resolution is a promise a person makes for the New Year. Regardless of what resolution you choose, the goal is to improve your life in 2018.
Resolutions are mixed and varied. Some make a promise to change a habit, stopping smoking, drinking less alcohol.
Others make a promise to develop a more positive habit, such as eating better, exercising more, joining a sports club.
I always find it challenging to find a parking space in January at my local sports centre, the amount of people using the facilities is always greatly increased at this point of year.
Nearly half of us will make a New Year resolution for 1st January 2018, yet historically more than 90% will stop within the first 2 months of the year.

Why do we make resolutions?

The New Year symbolises a fresh phase in our life, a line is drawn at 23.59pm on December 31st each year, and so it begins each year.
Various fitness focussed dreams, goals and aspirations will be on the lists of many.

Habits have to be learnt.

Combat Academy Chelmsford, classes in Essex teach reality based self defence skills, the ability to defend ourselves or loved ones in an attack.

Any and ALL kinds of attacks including Bullying, Mugging, Hate Crimes and Rape have a negative effect on confidence and self esteem, whatever our age.

The brain, in an attack, will search for a response, if it doesn’t have a learned response it will freeze. Classes teach how to develop such a response in Great Baddow, Chelmsford, Brentwood and Rayleigh in Essex.

If your New Year’s resolution is going to be to improve your fitness or learn a new skill consider self defence classes. If you choose a different resolution and are looking for something new, exciting and different around the mid to end of February, please give me a call or email to find out more details.

Beginners classes for adults, youths and families run every month throughout the year, if you have an interest in learning a new life skill, want to improve fitness, tone up, or lose weight.
You are sure to make new friends, have fun and learn very effective techniques, build confidence and self esteem.
